Summary: The Board of Education is asked to recognize the 2019 State HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) winners. Members of the Centennial High School Chapter of the Colorado Association HOSA attended the 2019 State HOSA Leadership Conference in Denver, Colorado. Students participated in the following competitive events: Home Health Care, Medical Terminology, Extemporaneous Health Poster, HOSA Bowl, and Pathophysiology. The HOSA members were accompanied by Mrs. Kelly Anaya and Mr. Phil Anaya, Chapter Advisors.

Our HOSA Chapter sent 11 students to the competition, with 6 of the 11 students placing in the top 10 winners in health-related events.

Melanie Denius, senior and HOSA Chapter President at Centennial High School Health Academy, took second place in the field of Home Health Care and qualifies to compete at the International HOSA Conference in Orlando, Florida in June.

In addition, Ayrionna Benavidez, senior and Hosa Chapter Communication Officer at Centennial High School Health Academy, took first place in the field of Pathophysiology and qualifies to compete at the International HOSA Conference in Orlando, Florida in June.
